Remembering the 6 Southwestern national parks we visited over the winter: Joshua Tree, Petrified Forest, Saguaro, Guadalupe Mountains, Carlsbad Caverns, and Big Bend. Fabulous parks. I want to go back!!

I just returned from a Southwest national park tour in our RV for 77 days, across 9600 miles! I can’t wait to share with you in upcoming blogs and pictures about my trip and adventures.

Enjoyed looking at all the Saguaro cactus plants while hiking in Saguaro National Park recently.

I think real Roadrunners are funnier than the cartoon! Saw this one at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Arizona. I looked up the species of bird and learned they are part of the cuckoo family.

What a remarkable year 2017 has been! My first book was published last February and the second in October. I still need to pinch myself now and then to make sure I didn’t dream it all up. Today, I was visiting my local library website and discovered there are 6 copies of my book Avalanche in the library system!! I guess it’s for real. We had the pleasure of visiting Arches and Great Sand Dunes National Parks on our way to Colorado for Thanksgiving this year. It turns out November is an excellent time to visit them because the weather is still rather mild and there aren’t many tourists at that time of year.
